Konnichiwa! My name is Stephanie and Japan Food Trips is my passionate endeavor to share Japan through the lens of my food obsessed expat-living-in-Tokyo world. As someone who has deeply immersed myself into the Japanese food and culture scene by writing for online publications such as and, I have dedicated endless hours, curating my own personal list of culinary gems that I want to share with the rest of the world. Before landing in Tokyo, I developed a career in Television for over 10 years as an editor and producer, so my passion lies somewhere between food and storytelling which, I think perfectly blends together on my food trips. After spending ample time getting to know many restauranteurs, chefs, and sommeliers, I found great joy in touring my friends around who came out to visit. Over time I realized my strong passion for showing people the real hidden local gems because I believe there is no better way to explore a new place than through the lens of a local who knows the best stuff and has a passion for it. I truly believe that food can bring people together in magical ways and for me, that is exactly what integrates culture, history, and a mutual fondness between people - thus the reason Japan Food Trips was born.
